If a child is in immediate danger, call 911

Suspect a child is being abused or neglected?

The Poshard Foundation funds services for children after they've been identified by a caseworker or agency — we are not a reporting hotline ourselves. If you suspect abuse, abandonment or neglect, please contact the people equipped to respond immediately:

Illinois Department of Children & Family Services

1-800-25-ABUSE

(1-800-252-2873) — available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, statewide.

Or contact your local law enforcement agency

If you believe a child is in immediate physical danger, call 911 or your local police or sheriff's department directly.

Once a child has been identified through one of these channels, the agencies and caseworkers who serve them are often the ones who turn to the Poshard Foundation for the practical support — a bed, counseling, school supplies — that helps a child move toward a safer, more normal childhood.
